Favourite and Least Favourite Math Teachers
My favorite teacher is my grade 10 math teacher. She started the class with a quick introduction to the concept and worked on 3 examples in class. The examples that were given in class helped us work through all the homework questions. After every unit, she helped us summarize the entire content with origami papers. We made unique notebooks with origami paper and wrote down the basic concepts and formulas. She would help us write our own notes for the unit test in an engaging way. Her class was also very organized and well-structured. She incorporated fun activities for each unit but also used examples that enhanced our understanding.
My least favorite teacher is my grade 12 math teacher. His class structure was the same every day. He gave us notes that we could fill out. However, he didn't teach the content and went through his notes word for word. Although it was a Pre-Calc 12 class, the class was very boring and I had to teach myself the content when I got home. I believe that reading off notes is not an efficient way of teaching. Utilizing examples and creative assignments will motivate students to learn and understand the concept. I also understand that higher-level math courses are harder to incorporate fun and engaging assignments, but I want to find a way to utilize activities to develop their mathematical understanding.

Good reflections on your favourite and least-favourite teachers! The origami paper notebooks sound really beautiful and fun to make, and the aesthetics of these notebooks must have made note-taking far more engaging. It sounds like your favourite teacher's engaging approach and care for students and subject were some of the most important factors.
